ABOUT US Company Overview In 1974, a Chicagoland non-ferrous metal service center spun off a division of itself to meet the increasing demand it was receiving for copper architectural sheet metal products. The new company, Chris Industries, would service the roofing, sheet metal, h.v.a.c., and the general construction industry around the greater Chicago area. In the beginning Chris carried only copper products, earning a reputation as Chicago’s one-stop copper shop. Over time Chris added materials like aluminum, galvanized, kynar material, and stainless steel to its stock inventory. And with the addition of other metals, Chris soon had a full line of architectural sheet metal products it offer its customers.
As Chris grew, it expanded to southern Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Iowa. In the late 80’s, Chris added a fabrication department to complement its full service distribution efforts. The addition allowed Chris to supply flashings in a quick, cost-effective manner. As the fabrication department grew, Chris added state-of-the-art fabrication equipment to increase its capacities. In the Spring of 2001, Chris again expanded its efforts by opening a second location in Joliet, Illinois. This new location has allowed Chris to conveniently service the growing downstate communities and allowed for more manufacturing equipment to serve customers growing fabrication needs. Today, Chris manufactures a variety of metal products for numerous industries across the United States. It has become the leading supplier of architectural sheet metal goods and precision fabricator of sheet metal products. Delivery information Delivery is free in the following Illinois counties on orders of $2,000 or more: Shipments outside of the regular shipping area may be delivered by Chris or common carrier.
